Karwar: Miraculous escape for passengers after bus clutch malfunctions

Passengers of a NWKRTC bus had a miraculous escape following a malfunction in the clutch plate of the bus near the Golden Bakery in Habbuwada here.

The bus, with around 50 passengers onboard was proceeding towards Keravadi village from Karwar. The malfunction took place before the bus entered the town.

Luckily the bus was moving at a slow speed else it would have toppled causing severe injuries to the passengers. 20 passengers sustained minor injuries in the mishap.

Traffic movement on the road leading to the railway station was disrupted for nearly an hour due to the bus mishap.

Meawhile passengers expressed their ire against the corporation alleging that the negligence could have costed them their lives.
