Kaup: Fire breaks out at Departmental Stores; goods gutted

Kaup: A fire mishap occurred here at  Departmental Stores on Saturday night and goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in the incident.

Smoke was noticed inside the Udaya bazaar last night whereafter locals and building owner immediately informed the Udupi fire brigade. Fire service personnel reached the spot and succeeded in dousing the flames.

Various electronic appliances including TV and fridge inside the stores were burnt in the fire.
