The incident took place on Sunday, when the Edathala police got a call that a man, identified as Sivadasan was found lying dead in his house near Kalamassery in Ernakulam district. The officials who had gone for the inquiry had asked Tony to arrive there in order to click photographs of the deceased person as part of preparing the inquest report.

When Tony leaned over the man to switch on a light, for clicking the photos he heard a faint snoring sound. He bent close to Sivadasan and realised that the sound was coming from him. Doubting that the man might be alive, Tony immediately alerted the police officials present there.

Upon checking they felt his heartbeats and immediately summoned an ambulance and shifted him to a city hospital, where he is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit.

As per reports, Sivadasan had not reported for work since few days and hence his colleague had come to check on him.

When Sivadasan did not open the door upon knocking, he peeped through a window and found him lying still on the ground. He was the one who alerted the police saying that Sivadasan was lying dead in his house

Apparently, Sivadasan had fallen down due to high blood pressure and hit his head on the bed. He was also found to be in an inebriated condition.
