Koteshwara: Garage worker suffers serious injuries as tyre explodes while filling air

Koteshwara: A youth sustained serious injuries when a tyre exploded while it was being inflated at a repair shop near the National Highway in Koteshwara.

The injured, identified as Abdul Rajeed, was working on a tyre of a private school bus. The tyre had been removed from the bus for repairs and was being inflated when the explosion occurred. The force of the blast caused the tyre drum to hit the roof of the bus and fall to the ground.

Though the incident occurred on Saturday, it came to light later. CCTV footage captured the tyre drum flying into the air and the youth being flung up before falling to the ground.

Possible Causes of the Explosion:

• Weak tyre structure
• Internal damage to the tyre
• Tyre exceeding its capacity
• Malfunction in the air pressure gauge
