The passenger, identified as Suresh, was confronted by the bus conductor when asked about the contents of his bag. Suresh explained that he was carrying chicken meat, which led to a confrontation with the conductor who insisted that chicken meat was not allowed on the bus. Unaware of this rule, Suresh refused to disembark, resulting in a heated argument between the two parties. Regrettably, the conductor resorted to using abusive language towards the passenger.

As Suresh continued to remain on the bus, the driver decided to take the bus, filled with passengers, to the police station.

Sub-Inspector (S.I.) Ramakrishna, who was present at the station during this incident, engaged with the KSRTC bus driver and conductor. He questioned the logic behind not allowing laborers to carry meat or fish on the bus, as well as whether it was reasonable to take someone to the police station for carrying chicken meat. These actions have raised concerns among the public, leading to questions regarding the enforcement of such rules and the treatment of individuals who may not be aware of them.

Shrisha Bhat, Divisional Officer of RTC Bantwal Division clarified that live animals are allowed on the bus, but meat products, including chicken and fish, are prohibited. The ban on such items is in place to prevent any inconvenience or discomfort to fellow passengers due to the odor associated with these products.
