Mangaluru/Udupi: Anganwadis and pre-primary schools, which were shut for children due to the pandemic, are all set to reopen from November 8 across the state including Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
The state government has decided to begin classes in a phased manner. Anganwadi centres will function from 10 am to 12 noon in the initial phase, sources said.
Supplementary nutritious food will be supplied to the homes of children. After 15 days, nutritious food will be served at the centres, sources said. o the house till further notice. after 15 days, nutritious food is served at the centre to take stock of the situation.
In the Dakshina Kannada district, 2,108 Anganwadis serve an estimated 1.80 lakh beneficiaries. There are 4,200 Anganwadi workers and helpers.

All precautionary measures have been taken by the department of women and child development as pre-primary and Anganwadis will start from today.
A total of 1,191 Anganwadis under the purview of 4 child development planners of Udupi, Brahmavara, Kundapur and Karkala in the district have been completely sanitized. Child development project officers will check that all Anganwadi workers and helpers have received 2 doses of vaccination, sources said.
