K’taka polls: Bommai denies rumors of preventing Jagdish Shettar’s ticket

Hubli: Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai has dismissed rumors that his is working to prevent former Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar from obtaining a ticket for the upcoming state elections.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Bommai emphasized that he is making every effort to ensure that Shettar, who is a loyal BJP leader, is given a ticket.

Bommai also highlighted Shettar’s importance to the party, stating that North Karnataka needs his leadership.

The Chief Minister further revealed that he is in talks with senior party members to keep Shettar active in politics.

While questioned about corruption allegations, Bommai challenged his accusers to release any documents that prove he was involved in the irrigation scheme scandal.

The statements from Bommai came amidst reports that there is growing tension between the Chief Minister and Shettar, who were reportedly friends before the latter entered politics. However, Bommai’s latest comments suggest that the party is committed to working with Shettar and that rumors of a falling out between the two leaders are unfounded.
