Reportedly, the locals saw the leopard falling into a well belonging to Ashok and located near the Durgaparameshwari temple in Sowkur around 11 am, and informed the forest department officials

After receiving the information the department officials reached the spot and found the leopard sitting on a pipe attached to the pump in the 30 feet well.

“It could not sit there for long and be slipping. Initially, a basket was dropped into the well and once the leopard moved into the basket, the animal capturing cage was placed near the basket using ropes. Once the leopard got into the cage, we pulled the cage out of the well,” said.

The animal was released into the forest later in the evening.
