It is said that a youth belonging to another religion had uploaded a distorted version of Chaitra Kundapur’s speech on social media after which he was assaulted by a few people.

After a complaint was registered, police officials had taken several people into custody for questioning. They were also made to sign a bond before their release.

However, the HJV activists alleged that their activists were beaten up by the police during interrogation. Hundreds of activists gathered in front of the police station and sang Bhajans.

Hindu Jagarana Vedike Mangaluru divisional general secretary Prakash Kukkehalli demanded a thorough investigation of the current incident.
