Kundapura: Fire guts 10 acres of land in Keduru

Thekkatte: A fire broke out on a ten-acre land at Kuduru village in Kundapur taluk on Sunday morning.

The incident reportedly was caused by a fire in a transformer. The fire quickly spread to about ten acres of nearby land.

More than 50 local youths successfully doused the fire.

A high school, a student hostel and about 50 houses were near the place were the fire spread. Potential disaster was averted by timely of the locals.

Firefighters from Kundpura arrived about two hours after the fire started leading a small quarreel between locals and them.
