Kundapura: Following the lockdown in India owing to stop spread of COVID-19, many essential works were halted. The development of flyover at Shastri Circle, Kundapura was also effected as the work was stopped due to this.
As the central government is granting permission to essential works in extension of lockdown, the Assistant Commissioner K Raju has taken special interest in pending work of Kundapura flyover and taken permission from District Administrator to carry out the remaining operation.
As the rainy season would start the month of May or June, if the work is not completed in this month, the work will not be resumed until November. Hence, they have started the operation with handful of workers.
Assistant Commission K Raju has said, "Apart from this work, we will take special permission to start the completion of road and bridge construction. We will ensure to maintain personal hygiene, social distancing and other health measures while working."
