Kunigal: Private bus hits signboard, overturns on NH 75; Driver from Mangaluru killed, 8 injured

Kunigal: A private bus that was on its way to Bengaluru from Udupi collided with a welcome signboard and overturned, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to eight passengers.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning on December 28 near Anchepalya on National Highway 75.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Ibrahim (40), a resident of BC Road, Mangaluru, and the bus driver.

The private bus had departed from Subhash Nagar, Udupi, on Friday at 7:45 PM, heading toward Bengaluru. The driver reportedly lost control, causing the bus to crash into the signboard before overturning. The tragic mishap claimed the life of the driver and left eight passengers injured.

Further investigation is underway.
