Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the 150th birth anniversary programme of Mahatma Gandhi in Mangaluru where he was invited as a guest, Mr Senthil asserted that he quit from his post only due to personal reasons and the same has been cited in his resignation letter.

“There was no pressure from the government and all supported me during my tenure as deputy commissioner,” he explained.

“I feel I can understand the problems faced by people better by being with them,” said Mr Senthil adding that he felt his decision is right as he feels more connected to the ground realities and the people now.

“However after resigning, I can express, write, study and do good work. I can influence the government and I feel that my decision is right. There is nothing negative concerning my resignation as it was not a decision made out of compulsion,” he clarified.

“Dakshina Kannada is a very good district and there is no communal violence here. Politicians are good who aim to serve as per public interest,” observed Mr Senthil.
