Lizard in midday meal, 10 children taken ill

Mandya: Nearly 10 children of an anganvadi in Mandya didtrict took ill on Wednesday after consuming their midday meal. The students were shifted to the hospital after many of them started vomiting.

As per the sources, the mid-day meal was served to children at the school and the dead lizard was found in the meal prepared. A while later, several children complained of stomach ache, vomiting and uneasiness. Teachers, with the help of the villagers, rushed the children to a private hospital.

A case in this regard has been registered at the Mandya west police station.

In the recent past, there have been multiple instances of students falling ill after eating midday meals.
