Lockdown 4.0: K'taka Hotels association to protest against govt by stopping food deliveries, takeaways

Bengaluru: The hoteliers in the state are planning to stop take away orders and food deliveries as a protest against the government’s decision to keep the hotels shut

The Karnataka government on Monday came out with fresh guidelines according to which only malls, hotels, and theater will be shut whereas all the other sectors can be functional. However, hotels may only be allowed to supply cooked food as takeaways or deliveries through online services like Swiggy and Zomato.

Despite giving multiple representations to the government about how they are prepared to abide by every condition set by the government on sanitizing their premises and maintaining social distancing, they were not allowed to function, they were not allowed to function, therefore, the Karnataka Hotels association said they would stop food deliveries this service till May 31.

Reportedly, there are over 85,000 hoteliers in the state and all are waiting to reopen businesses and the association is planning to meet Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa again on Tuesday, May 19 to speak to him about the business losses.
