Voting took place at the Community Hall of Polling Station No. 86, in this naxal affected area. All 111 registered voters, comprising 51 women and 60 men, from Banjarumale exercised their franchise von Friday.

This impressive turnout marks a notable increase from the 99% recorded in the 2019 elections. Credit for this achievement goes to the concerted efforts of the District SVEEP Committee, led by Belthangadi Taluk SVEEP Committee President Vaijanna and his team, who diligently raised awareness among villagers about the importance of voting.

The absence of basic infrastructure such as network connectivity and proper roads did not deter the villagers’ enthusiasm to participate in the democratic process.

It may be recalled that the Dakshina Kannada District Deputy Commissioners had announced a special prize to booths recording 100 per cent voter turnout.
