Madikeri: Hunting trip turns fatal; 35-year-old killed by gunshot wound

Madikeri: A hunting trip proved deadly for a man after he was reportedly shot dead in Heggala village near Virajpet here.

The deceased, identified as Hamid (35) from Gundikere, died of a gunshot wound. He along with 2 others had been to the forest for hunting wild game.

His accomplice — Ashraf and Rafeeq — surrendered to the police after the incident.

A case has been registered at the Virajpet police station in this regard.

There are allegations that several others were also in the hunting party. Police investigations are underway.
