Mangalore University planning to hold online examinations: VC

Mangaluru: Amid a rise in Covid-19 cases, Mangalore University on Tuesday, August 3 canceled the exams of all its degree colleges, until further notice.

Now, Mangalore University vice chancellor (VC), Prof P S Yadapadithaya, said that if the Covid-19 situation worses, the university has been planning to hold examinations online.

Speaking at the university academic council meeting held on Wednesday, August 4, he said, ” Exams of all degree colleges affiliated to Mangalore University have been canceled. If the Covid-19 situation goes out of hand, we will have to conduct examinations online. A Pune-based concern has created software for the purpose.”

He further said, ” Tenders have been invited for the digital evaluation system to be introduced by the university. We will also frame rules relating to the introduction of diploma courses in different fields.”

“Also, the university has been  awarded B grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. We have requested NAAC to review this data verification validation process,” he added.
