A joint forum comprising secular parties in Dakshina Kannada district, along with like-minded individuals, has called for the immediate arrest of RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for his derogatory remarks targeting Muslim women.

The demand was formally presented at a press conference held in the city on Thursday, with former minister B. Ramanatha Rai serving as the forum president.

Rai expressed strong condemnation, asserting that Prabhakar Bhat’s remarks not only insulted Muslim girls but offended the entire female community. The forum insists that the government take swift action by arresting him promptly.

Accusing Prabhakar Bhat of attempting to incite the majority of Hindus in light of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Rai argued that such comments were strategically made to sway public opinion. This is not the first instance of the RSS leader making disparaging remarks about girls, as a non-bailable case has reportedly been registered against him in the past.

The joint forum includes representatives from various political parties and organizations, such as the CPI, CPIM, Dalit Sangharsh Samiti, and the Farmers association.
