BJP held a protest in Mangaluru on Wednesday in condemnation of the arrest of Kar Sevak Srikanth Poojari in Hubballi. Mangalore City North MLA, Dr. Y. Bharat Shetty, led the charge, accusing the Congress of fostering 39 years of animosity and attempting to sow discord in society.

In a fervent address, Dr. Shetty accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of releasing PFI workers, labeling them as non-traitors. He pointed to the Congress’s purportedly lenient stance, citing the instance where a man responsible for a cooker bomb explosion in Mangalore was deemed innocent by the Congress party.

“Let them reopen cases involving all Kar Sevaks,” he challenged the government.

He further said that Congress has historically dismissed state governments over the Ayodhya issue. State government should stop trying to undermine the faith of Hindus, he added.

Joining the protest were prominent figures like Mangalore South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Vidhana Parishad member Pratap Simha Nayak, Kasturi Panja, Harikrishna Bantwal, Jagadish Shenava, and Capt Brijesh Chowta.
