Mangaluru CCB police arrest duo for MDMA drug trafficking

Mangaluru: The CCB police arrested two persons involved in the illegal sale of MDMA (Methylene deoxy methamphetamine), a dangerous synthetic drug.

The accused have been identified as Kaushik Devadiga (26), a resident of Kadri, and Muhammad Irshad alias Akudu (29), a resident of Jayanagar in Bajal.

Police said that the duo was arrested near the Guttakadu bus stand in Mulki Kinnigoli Talippadi village, Moodbidri taluk while trying to sell the drug.

During the operation, the police seized 9 grams of MDMA valued at Rs 45,000/-. Additionally, two mobile phones and a digital weighing scale were also confiscated. The total value of the seized assets to approximately Rs 95,500/-, police said.

Police further said that both accused individuals have a history of involvement in criminal activities. Kaushik Devadiga has a case registered against him at Mangalore East Police Station for ganja consumption. Mohammad Irshad faces a case of attempted murder registered at the Ullal police station.
