Mangaluru: Charmadi Ghat road to be improved at Rs 343 crores, says Nalin Kumar Kateel

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, on Monday, said that the Charmadi Ghat road will be developed at an outlay of 343.74 crores.

Nalin said that Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has conveyed to him that the National Highway-73 (NH-73) Mangaluru-Mudigere-Tumkur section is slated for expansion into a two-lane road, featuring a 10.8 km long paved shoulder.

The minister informed MP Kateel that the project will be executed on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) basis.

In a letter addressed to MP Kateel, Minister Gadkari outlined that the expansion, allocated under the annual plan for the year 2023-24, is estimated to cost Rs. 343.74 crores. The development aims to enhance road connectivity for users and is anticipated to play a pivotal role in bolstering the economic growth of the district.

Expressing gratitude, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel extended thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister Nitin Gadkari for allocating significant highway projects to the district.
