According to the complaint, the victim received a call from an unknown person claiming to be from a company named “Knyamed.” The caller informed the victim that since they had previously purchased clothing from the company, they were eligible for a special offer. The offer promised an iWatch as a gift if the victim made a purchase of Rs 5,000 worth of clothing. The victim was instructed to make a payment via Google Pay, which amounted to Rs 5,096.

Later in the day, the victim received another call asking to confirm the order. The scammer requested that the victim send the bill for the iWatch via WhatsApp and make an additional payment of Rs 54,932 to receive a code required to claim the gift. The caller assured that this amount would be refunded. Trusting the promise, the victim made the payment.

In the evening, the scammer called again, claiming that the victim had entered the wrong code and asked for another payment. The scammer assured that once this payment was made, all previous payments would be refunded. The victim, unaware of the scam, transferred another Rs 50,000.

When the victim later tried to contact the scammer to request a refund, the scammer did not answer the calls, leading the victim to realize that they had been defrauded. In total, the victim lost Rs 1,10,028. The complaint has been filed, and the victim has requested the police to take appropriate action against the accused.
