Mangaluru: MBBS intern found hanging in apartment; Suicide suspected

Mangaluru: A 25-year-old medical intern working at a city-based hospital allegedly hanged herself to death at the apartment she was living in on Sunday, December 19.

Vaishali Gaikwad (25) daughter of Vijay Kumar Gaikwad of Anandnagar in Bidar district was staying at a rented apartment in Kuthar in the city and was pursuing her MBBS studies in Mangaluru.

Though the exact reason behind the suicide is not known, it is suspected to be a case of a love affair gone wrong. As per reports, a man named Sujish (24) of Palakkad who was the classmate of the victim has been detained for questioning.

Further investigations are underway.
