He was speaking at a meeting with the officials of the Mangalore circle on Friday.

“Dakshina Kannada district has a rich forest area and has ample opportunity for forest development. Action should be taken to clear cases of encroachment of more than three acres of forests,” he said.

“Relief provided to victims of human-wildlife conflict is slow. This is causing trouble to the public. Compensation must be delivered quickly in such cases,” the minister added.

The officials informed Limbavali of the actions taken to move those residing in the reserve forest in the Kudremukh National Park. The minister suggested that the officials submit the proposal regarding financial requirements for the rehabilitation of the people to the government soon.
