The absence of a connecting bridge over the Netravati river, which surrounds the island, has been a long-standing issue for the community. Despite persistent demands, the construction of a bridge has not materialized yet. Pavoor Uliya Island is home to more than 50 families, comprising over 150 eligible voters.

Despite the lack of infrastructure, residents made their way to the polling stations by boat to exercise their democratic right to vote. Elderly individuals, women, and youth all participated in the electoral process, highlighting the determination of the community to have their voices heard.

Residents expressed their hope that their longstanding demand for a suspension bridge will finally be fulfilled this time.
