K’taka govt transfers IPS officers: Anupam Agarwal to replace Kuldeep Jain as Mangaluru CP

Mangaluru: Mangaluru Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain has been transferred by the Karnataka government. Senior IPS officer Anupam Agarwal will replace him as the next city police commissioner.

State government issued a list announcing the transfer of 35 IPS officers of Karnataka cadre on September 5.

Kuldeep Kumar Jain had been appointed to the post 5 months ago. He had been recognised as an efficient, upright officer. As the police commissioner, Jain had waged a war on drug mafia and had taken up the aim of making Mangaluru ‘drug free’.

Jain’s sudden transfer after serving only a short time has raised eyebrows. Many wondered whether his tough stance against the drug mafia ruffled feathers.

Anshu Kumar posted as SP of Coastal Security Police 

Meanwhile, IPS officer Anshu Kumar, who was waiting for posting, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police, Coastal Security Police, Udupi. He will take over responsibilities from Abdul Ahad, who has been posted as Deputy
Commissioner of Police, Central Division, Bengaluru City.

Dr. Arun K, IPS (KN- 2014), who is currently the Superintendent of Police & Principal, the Police Training Centre, Kalaburgi has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Udupi. He will replace Hakay Akshay Machhindra IPS transferred.
