Mangaluru: Police interrupt drug deal; seize methamphetamine worth Rs 30,000

Police officials on Thursday, February 1 successfully thwarted an attempt to engage in illegal drug transactions near Merihill Helipad in Mangaluru. The collaborative effort involved the Drugs Squad teams from Mangalore’s North Sub-Division and the Kaup Police Station, leading to the apprehension of one individual identified as Mohammed Faraj.

The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately 7.28 grams of Methamphetamine, with an estimated value of around 30,000 rupees. Additionally, authorities confiscated a Suzuki Access vehicle valued at one lakh rupees, believed to be associated with the illicit activities.

A case under sections 8(c) and 21(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at the Kaup Police Station.
