Addressing media on Friday, Shri Gurudevananda Swamiji of Shri Kshetra Odiyoor warned that seers will take to the streets and stage hunger strikes if the Congress-led state government repeals the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act 2020.

Swamiji emphasized the need for implementing the law as intended. He also criticized the government’s discussions on scrapping the anti-conversion law, stating that both laws should be retained.

The seers demanded that the government should maintain the existing Goshalas, continue providing financial support to them, and allocate Gomala land to Mathas, temples, mandiras, and private Goshalas.

Swamiji’s said that repealing these laws would be seen as anti-Hindu and would hurt Hindu sentiments. The seers plan to submit a memorandum to the governor, chief minister, and deputy chief minister, urging them to preserve the laws.
