Mangaluru: Woman, infant found dead at apartment in Gujjarakere

Mangaluru: A woman and her infant child were found dead under mysterious circumstances at an apartment in Gujjarakere here on the evening of Saturday, December 2.

The deceased have been identified as Fatima Rukia (23) and her son Abdulla Houd (4.5 months old).

According to police, the deaths are suspected to be a case of murder-suicide. Fatima reportedly suffered from post-partum depression and was under medical treatment.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Fatima may have drowned the child before taking her own life, police said.

A case of unnatural deaths has been registered. Further investigations are underway.
