Manipal: Person accused of bursting crackers atop car detained

Udupi: In relation to bursting firecrackers allegedly on top of the car, a youth named Vishal Kohli (26) is detained by the police on Thursday, October 27.

Accused Vishal works in a salon at Manipal.

On Tuesday, October 25, at around 9:30 PM a car bearing number plate KA 20 MA 9232 was seen on Dr. V S Acharya Road bursting firecracker atop the car.

The video had gone viral across social media platforms.

Based on this, on Thursday, under the direction of SP Hakay Akshay Machhindra, a team of Manipal Police including PSI Rajashekhar Mandali, ASI Shailesh and Head Constable Prasanna stopped the car at Manipal’s Syndicate Circle and detained Vishal. The car was also seized.

On a complaint filed by PSI Rajashekhar, a suo moto case has been filed at Manipal Police Station.
