MCC honours Asiad medallist M R Poovamma

Mangaluru: M R Poovamma, who won gold at the recently held Asian games, was felicitated with Rs 2 lakh in cash by the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) here on Saturday, September 29^th. The Indian sprinter was felicitated in a simple programme, prior to the MCC meeting held at the Mangala auditorium.

Poovamma thanked the MCC for the honour and appreciating the felicitation said that such programmes would inspire those wishing to bloom in the sports field.

"I am grateful to the MCC as it has acknowledged my achievement. I hope that the MCC will also acknowledge the achievements of budding talents, who are trying to achieve more," said the sprinter.
