During the company’s annual developer conference, Microsoft Build 2020., Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella disclosed the acquisition of Softomotive, one of the leading providers of Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
Microsoft from now onwards will be using Softomotive’s Robotic Desktop Automation (RDA) tool, WinAutomation and ProcessRobot that provide a powerful, robust and easy-to-use Windows-based platform for building software robots and an enterprise Robotic Process Automation platform, including enterprise-grade security and controls respectively.
CEO Marios Stavropoulos said, “As part of Microsoft, we will usher in the next phase of RPA with a true end-to-end, agile offering together. We’ve come a long way from our roots and are now ready to deliver a new RPA vision to our customers,”
Softomotive currently has about 9,000 customers around the world. Softomotive’s WinAutomation platform will be freely available to Power Automate users with what Microsoft calls an RPA attended license in Power Automate.
