Millions of Android devices, fitted with Qualcomm chips, are at potential risk due to over 400 security flaws found in the chips
According to Gadget360, Security research firm Check Point in its research discovered that these vulnerabilities allow hackers to access sensitive information, render the mobile phone constantly unresponsive, and allow malware and other malicious code to completely hide their activities and become un-removable
Qualcomm chips are used in over 40% of the smartphone market and are found in phones from different price categories. These also include premium phones from brands like Google, Samsung, LG, Xiaomi and more.
It is said that hackers can also push a denial-of-service attack which would freeze the phone. This way all the data on the phone will be permanently available.
However, CheckPoint hasn’t revealed the technical details of how these vulnerabilities can be exploited.
