The minister said that one person has died of black fungus in the Udupi district and another has been sent to Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru for treatment. Hence, there is a need for setting up reserve beds for black fungus cases.

“Drugs needed to treat Black Fungus will be supplied to the district soon. As patients from other districts too are coming to Udupi for Black Fungus treatment so an adequate amount of medicines will be supplied,” he said.

The minister also instructed DC Jagadeesha to ensure that all patients undergoing COVID-19 treatment are treated under the Aayushamn Bharat Aarogy Karnataka scheme and asked him to order all private hospitals to also do so.
