Post gaining access into the office, the miscreants heaped the documents in the office, including membership of beedi workers and applications for beedi scholarship and set fire to them. They also set the furniture ablaze, inform sources from the police.

Based on the complaint by CPI secretary B Shekhar, Bantwal police have registered a complaint and investigating the case. The police have collected CCTV footage from the surrounding buildings and are bound to arrest the culprits soon.

Reason

It is presumed that the act of vandalism is in response to the CPI cadre setting fire to BJP offices in Kerala.
