On this special occasion, a thanksgiving Holy Mass was celebrated. Fr Robert D’Souza, principal of Lourdes Central School was the main celebrant of the Mass.
The renovated and futuristic state-of-the-art administrative office was inaugurated by the chairman, ‘Sahakara Ratna’ Anil Lobo. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth parish priest, Our Lady of Miracles Church Milagres, Mangaluru, blessed the renovated premises.
‘Sahakara Ratna’, Anil Lobo in his keynote address welcomed the dignitaries, guests, invitees and the staff members. He reiterated that the main objectives of the founders while opening the bank were co-operation and co-existence and the same objectives have remained even today at MCC Bank Ltd. “The world has gone digital and without modern technology, it is impossible to survive in the banking industry and therefore appropriate action has been taken to upgrade the technological aspects of banking. The area of operation of the bank has been extended to the entire state of Karnataka and hence it is necessary to have a futuristic state-of-the-art administrative office,” he said. He praised the services of Chavalier Clarence Pais, who has rendered 74 years of dedicated service as legal advisor to the bank.

Speaking during the occasion, Fr Bonaventure Nazareth congratulated the bank for its tremendous growth for the past 6 years. He said that the present constituents of the bank have the greater responsibility of influencing the future generation of the bank through dedicated and trust worthy service. He praised the services of advocate Clarence Pais to the society. He said that Clarence Pais leads an exemplary life of truthfulness and honesty. “He deserves honour for his 75 years of service to the society. Though he is physically old, he is young in his thinking and belief,” he said. Fr Nazareth wished all well for MCC Bank and its constituents.

Deril Lasrado, senior manager, recovery, presented a brief note on Milestone Offers presented by the bank on the occasion of achieving 1000 crore business turnover by the bank. It was noted with applaud that 2300 customers have been identified as ‘Diamond Customers’ and the all the services of the bank would be free of cost to these customers for the next one year starting from May 10.
The Diamond Customer card was launched by the chief guest, Clifford Lobo, assistant conservator of forests, Udupi district. The initial cards were issued to advocate Clarence Pais and Fr Bonaventure Nazareth.
Advocate Clarence Pais, legal advisor to MCC Bank Ltd, renowned senior advocate and luminary of the community, was felicitated during the occasion for his 75 years of public service. A documentary on the life and achievements was presented to the audience. Speaking on the occasion, Pais, thanked the administration of the bank for honouring and felicitating him. He said that as MCC Bank is following the principles of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the bank has grown to be a customer-centric and customer-friendly bank. The bank has established itself as trustworthy and unbiased institution, for which the chairman of the bank has been conferred with ‘Sahakara Ratna’ award. The award is a jewel in the field of service and presents loads of appreciation to the Bank. He cherished that during his tenure as legal advisor, not a single opinion has been found wrong.
The customers, who were celebrating the Birthdays, anniversaries during the month of may, were honoured by the chairman. The architect Deepak D’Souza of General Corporation who designed the renovated premises was honoured. All the vendors who contributed towards the renovation of the premises were also honoured. The former deputy general manager Felix Fernandes was recognised and honoured for his presence during the occasion.
The chief guest, Clifford Lobo, assistant conservator of forests, Udupi district, in his address congratulated the bank on the occasion of celebrating the Founder’s Day. He emphasised, “Celebrating Founder’s Day of the bank, reminds us the vision, mission and objectives of the bank. It helps us to tread forward with more vigour towards the upliftment of the society.” He wished all well for the bank.
Former chairman of MCC Bank and renowned senior advocate, M P Noronha, was the guest of honour. In his address, he expressed that it is essential to celebrate the Founder’s Day in order to recall the vision of the bank. He expressed that, under the leadership of Anil Lobo and the directors, the bank is heading with a speed of aeroplane and hence the administrative office has been renovated like an airport. He expressed his satisfaction towards the service at MCC Bank. He presented three principles to achieve the goal; Knowledge, Skills and Attitude. By following these principles, the staff members and directors can achieve their goal. He called upon to build the bank with greater vision and mission towards the society. He wished that the bank may prosper at the national level and help the society to attain financial stability.
