Bengaluru: Metro commuters arriving or departing from Swami Vivekananda Road (SV Road) Metro station are facing tough times these days reportedly due to menace from monkeys.
The primates, which are around 3 in number have been pulling dupattas of the women commuters, snatching their handbags, treating themselves to the food items therein, and discarding the rest from these elevated platforms, a staffer was quoted speaking to TNIE.
Following the increasing number of commuter complaints, the officials have put out printouts, both in Kannada and English, warning about the presence of the monkeys. The ‘Beware of Monkeys’ printouts has been pasted near the steps leading to the elevated Platforms of One and Two.
The report further states that the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) staffers have brought this to the attention of the Forest department and a team had been deployed here, to nab the monkeys, for a day recently but the monkeys were not to be seen that day.
