The incident occurred when a large leopard plunged into a well situated near Marur Guttu, much to the alarm of the nearby residents. In response, the quick-thinking villagers promptly alerted the forest officers and local police to the situation.
Under the guidance of Assistant Conservator of Forest, Satish N., a dedicated team of forest personnel, led by Zonal Forest Officer Hemgiri Angadi, swiftly assembled at the location. In a coordinated effort, they positioned a trap within the well, coaxing the leopard to enter the contraption. Once the leopard was safely secured within the cage, it was gently lifted out of the well and provided with essential first aid.
A video capturing the heartwarming rescue, featuring an unexpected guest – a brave frog that hopped onto the leopard – has since gone viral, spreading this uplifting tale of human-animal collaboration far and wide.
