Moodbidri: Teacher absconding in POCSO case nabbed

Moodbidri: The teacher who had been absconding in a POCSO case was apprehended on Thursday night.

The arrested accused has been identified as Guru M P, a teacher at the Kallamundkur High School. He is accused of molesting female students at the school.

Police registered the POCSO case after receiving harassment complaints from the child victims, their parents, and the headmaster of the school.

Guru was suspended following the registration of the POCSO case. He had recently filed a plea for anticipatory bail in the District Sessions Court.

The case was transferred to Mangaluru Women’s Police Station for further investigation.

The citizens were planning to hold a massive protest to demand the arrest of the accused teacher.

Meanwhile, a joint operation was launched by the Moodbidiri Police and Mangaluru Women’s Police and the accused was arrested. He was produced in court and remanded to judicial custody.
