MP Prathap Simha flags off  Mysuru-Bengaluru MEMU

Mysuru: Mysuru-Kodagu MP Prathap Simha on Sunday, December 23 flagged off the Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) train, adding one more train between the two cities Mysuru and Bengaluru.

Addressing presspersons on the occasion Prathap Simha said that Realising the long gap between the two cities, he had requested Railway Minister Piyush Goyal to extend the MEMU from Ramanagaram till Mysuru. 

He further informed that, along with this MEMU service, the Union government is committed to giving a boost to the region in the form of new Railway projects at Naganahalli and other places.

As per the sources, rail service will officially begin from December 26 and the train fare from Mysuru to Bengaluru would be Rs 30.

The MEMU train will run between the two cities for four days a week, making it convenient for those leaving the city in the evening, as there is no train between 7 pm and 11.55 pm.

The Bengaluru-Mysuru MEMU will run on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the Mysuru-Bengaluru train will run on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It will depart Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (KSR) station at 7.55 pm and reach Mysuru at 10.50 pm. The return journey from Mysuru will be at 4.45 am and reach Bengaluru at 8.30 am.

MLA L Nagendra, MLC Sandesh Nagaraj, Maritibbegowda, Divisional Railway Manager Aparna Garg, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Ajay Sinha were also present.
