Museums on Constitution, Ramayana, K'taka tribes to come up in B'luru

Bengaluru: The Department of Social Welfare is planning to establish two interactive museums — Interactive Constitution Museum and the Maharishi Valmiki and Ramayana Museum — in Nagadasanahalli near Yelahanka at a cost of Rs 120 crore and Rs 60 crore, respectively.

Deputy Chief Minister G Parameswara made an announcement in this regard on Thursday. These museums will come up in an eight-acre plot and will be built on international standards, Parameswara said. 

“The State government hopes to encourage dialogue between Constitution guarantees and rights that govern the Indian republic, and the spirituality and philosophy that has created one of the richest cultures in the world,” he added. 

Apart from these two museums, the state government will also set up a tribal museum which will highlight the culture and traditions of various tribes of Karnataka.

Minister for Social Welfare Priyank Kharge will spearhead the project. “The two museums will be the most befitting monuments to the father of the Indian Constitution Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Maharshi Valmiki, who immortalised the epic Ramayana and inspired people with great values,”  Kharge said.
