Mysuru: Woman alleges rape by cousin

Mysuru: A woman has approached the Kollegala town police alleging that she was drugged and raped by her own cousin.

The complainant, a resident of Adarshnagar Layout in Kollegala town, alleged that her cousin Doreswamy(30) had sexually assaulted her at a secluded house.

As per the complaint, Doreswamy approached the victim on the pretext of introducing her to a man who was interested to marry her. She was first taken to the office of an acquaintance of the accused. Sometime later the accused took her to a secluded house.

When asked as to why he had been brought to an empty house, Doreswamy said that the groom was on the way and would reach the house in some time. Meanwhile, she gave her a drink laced with sedatives and raped her, the complaint said.

Doreswamy also threatened to kill the victim if she told anyone about the incident, the complaint added.

A case in this regard has been registered at the Town police station in Kollegala.
