Narrow bridge: Villagers carry woman’s body on foot in Punjalkatte

Punjalkatte: The family of a woman was seen struggling to carry the body of an elderly woman on foot on a narrow path on a small vented dam due to the absence of a bridge that can support even light vehicles over the stream between Benchinadka and Kajala areas, which border Belthangady and Bantwal taluks.

The footage of the incident has gone viral on social media.

Locals said, that despite continuous appeals to the government and relevant authorities for the construction of a bridge over the stream, no action has been taken yet. The authorities are neglecting requests for infrastructure development, they alleged.
