Nayakanahatti Mutt seer attempts suicide condemning Murugha seer’s arrest

Chitradurga: A seer tried to take his own life on Friday while protesting against the arrest of Murugha Mutt pontiff Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru under the POCSO act.

The seer, identified as Sri Tipperudraswamy of Nayakanahatti Mutt, reportedly,  attempted to commit suicide at the Chitradurga District Hospital, where the Murugha pontiff was being treated for chest pain.

Meanwhile, the police who were deployed near the hospital immediately took cognizance of the situation and prevented the seer from taking his own life.
