Nelamangala: Woman found hanging; Husband and in-laws arrested

Nelamangala: The husband and in-laws of a woman who allegedly took her own life were arrested by the police.

Pooja (24) was found hanging in her husband’s home in Weaver’s Colony here. Police arrested her husband Manjunath, mother-in-law Shyamala and father-in-law Ananthamurthi.

After the incident, Pooja’s parents alleged that she had been killed. Pooja, who married Majunath two years ago, was harassed by her husband and in-laws, they said.

Manjunath quarreled with Pooja every day after being drunk. She also faced dowry harassment, they alleged.

Further, they said that a gold chain was gifted to the husband as the “wedding was too simple during the pandemic time.”

Nelamangala Town police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
