Netflix confirms Cillian Murphy will return as Tommy Shelby in ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie

Cillian Murphy, the Oscar-winning actor known for his role as Tommy Shelby, will return in a new ‘Peaky Blinders’ movie, Netflix has confirmed. Directed by Tom Harper and scripted by Steven Knight, the film promises to continue the gripping story of the Shelby family.

‘It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me. It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans,’ Murphy said, dedicating the movie to admirers of the show.

The original series, which concluded its sixth season in April 2022, depicted the tumultuous life of the titular Peaky Blinders gang in post-World War I Birmingham. Director Harper described the upcoming film as an ‘explosive chapter.’ The project goes into production later this year and will be available on Netflix.
