No Covid-19 screening at district checkposts in Karnataka: Govt clarifies

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Thursday May 21, announced there will be no inter-district checkposts for health screening. Health and Family Welfare Services Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that there will be no health screening of passengers travelling by private vehicles across districts in the state. "Covid-19 screening for passengers taking buses and trains, public transport, will be conducted at the point of origin and all asymptomatic cases will be allowed to travel," he said. "The symptomatic persons should be taken to fever clinics for further examination. The agencies running public transport should ensure health screening before the journey,” he further added.
