No rain in Kodagu; lackluster waterfalls

Madikeri: Every year with the start of the monsoon season, the natural beauty of Kodagu heightens. But this year, the rains have not yet arrived and hence, the majestic waterfalls here have only but withered.

The amount of rainfall in the district has fallen drastically and consequently, the waterfalls have turned skeletal. Prominent waterfalls like Abbi falls, Mallalli, Irpu, Chilavara have lost all of their grandeur with the fall in rainfall.

More tourists are arriving to Kodagu under the Monsoon Tourism Initiative to enjoy the promised natural beauty here. But, currently it is common to see the tourists return with sadness after viewing the dwindling waterfalls.
