Addressing presspersons at the Mysuru District Journalists’ Association, he attributed his win by 1,38,648 votes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was the only candidate for the entire nation like A.B. Vajpayee, as people trusted him.
When questioned about the rumors that Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya could become Union minister of state for youth affairs and his own ambitions, he said he had no interest in becoming a minister just now.
“People have voted not to make me a minister or for my political growth. I am not here for the position. I only want to complete all the projects that I have brought to Mysuru. There are several senior leaders who have contributed to the party and they should get the opportunity to become minister,” he added.
